Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They were recommended by the speed shop that did my suspension.
Leading evidence: 'Recommend by the speed shop' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). For Rotors, I can recommend Pagid brand from Rock Auto.

Suggestion
Replace pads as an axle set, and replace rotors in axle pairs, but no need to replace rotors every time you replace pads.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I didnt want to put this in the classified section because I have more to say than I am looking to see if anyone has pads and rotors for sale.
What is the best street pads and rotors to buy?
I am not interested in overpaying I just want quality pads and brakes.
I see them for sale everywhere but with so many experienced people here I could really use some advise. I can do the job myself. I am starting to stockpile for spring.
Thank you
For Rotors, I can recommend Pagid brand from Rock Auto. I use them as track/street rotors and they really hold up. No cracks or significant damage after 1 year of mixed use.
If you're just going to drive it on the street I'd just get the Textar pads that are OE, but without the Porsche brand stamped on them. Save lots of money that way, ~$80 for rear pads, ~90 for fronts. For rotors I've had good luck with Meyle, which come with a nice non-rusty coating on them, and cost barely over $100 a pair for these cars.
Here's another thread on this exact topic:

I have this setup (Meyle rotors and Textar pads) on my 99 C2 that I use as a track day car. They were recommended by the speed shop that did my suspension. They said I will not be able to push the car hard enough to need anything more, such as the expensive Pagid pads. They told me that when I wear the pads out, I should trash all the rotors and pads and replace with new. This setup has worked well for me so far.
100% disagree; your rotors should last through several sets of pads. No need to replace them at a 1:1 ratio. Replace pads as an axle set, and replace rotors in axle pairs, but no need to replace rotors every time you replace pads.
I just bought Pagid rotors, akebono pads and associated parts from Rockauto for both both my 996's...very affordable. I did have to buy caliper bolts and the rotor set screws from another supplier since rockauto didn't have them.
I just picked up Sebro slotted rotors and StopTech pads. I've been using the Textar pads and am really happy with them (aside from heavy dusting from track use). I'll try these StopTech Sport pads for track use.
