I usually use Goo Gone for that kind of stuff, but I don't know if it would impact the tint.

Having this in your shop is like having windex in your house--it's a great cleaner for many uses yet non invasive like paint thinners .
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Had a temporary tag in the rear window for a few weeks till the plate came. Carefully removed the tag, but the adhesive strips down both ends remain. The rear glass has dark plastic tint applied. Any ideas on how to remove the adhesive without softening or destroying the window tint?

Wow peanut butter or Avon skin so soft...who would have guessed... I'll try both and if not, move up to WD40, then GooGone. Wife is recommending coconut oil now. Several things to try. Trying to stay away from petroleum products if possible. Wonder who makes the film? They should have recommendations.

Any of the more "natural" routes should be fine. Tint will be affected by ammonia based cleaners such as certain Windex which dry out the film leading it to shrink and crack. Maybe a good moisturizer would actually extend the life of it lol
Paint prep from any body shop---will not harm paint, window, etc. Then clean as you would any window . Also great for removing tar ,etc..

Well I'm away on vacation so I can't grab the can & read the chemicals but I've used this stuff for many years . It's also termed "wax remover".
