By adjusting the drop links when the car was loaded there seemed to be pretty good clearance, not a lot though.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2001 996C2 that I have installed the LN Engineering IMS Solution. This upgrade provides a direct oil feed to the new IMS bearing similar to the Mezgar engines. I recently upgraded my suspension to H&R Street performance coil overs and I am extremely pleased with the upgrade. I also would like to upgrade my sway bars, however LN Engineering warns that a larger sway bar my interfere with the hard oil feed line that is in close proximity to the rear sway bar. My question is if anyone knows of a work around or if there has been a upgrade to this line that would allow me to install a larger diameter rear sway bar? thanks skipd1

POST 2Original post

my 03 has sport suspension with larger sway bars and when i installed the IMS solution, the oil line was touching the sway bar My okie fix was to slide a small portion of rubber hose over the braided line to keep it from chafing on the sway bar

POST 3Original post

Not all sway bars will have the interference. That said, you just have to watch for it, with the vehicle dropped on the ground, and suspension loaded up. This is when the sway bar has the greatest probability of contacting the sway bar. Its important that the oil hose does not come into contact with the sway bar at all, doing so can wear the hose thin. The routing of the hose is everything. Some people have removed a small amount of material from the sway bar, or spaced it further away from the chassis to help with clearance.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the response. I have access to both a 2 post lift and 4 post drive on lift, so when I installed the new coil overs I added adjustable drop links on the rear stock bar. I did install a silicone hose sleeve on the oil line for added protection. By adjusting the drop links when the car was loaded there seemed to be pretty good clearance, not a lot though. I guess I will order sway bars and see how they fit. I was hoping that by now maybe LN Engineering or Flat Six would make up a oil feed line option to add clearance to those who wanted to upgrade there sway bars. Skipd1
