Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So. I just started to get some Targa problems on my 996 my2002. It dosnt close proper on the drivers side. Stucks like 2-3 mm from closed position. When its about to close i hear some "drrrrr" noice, The opening goes smooth, but closing the targa goes a bit slower. Any suggetions? Cables? Something stuck inside?

POST 2Original post

Have you lubed it lately? what is causing issue ? It should slide open and closed w no binding if tracks clean and lubed.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i maintain and lube it 1-2 /year. Also clean it before. Went out to try again. It’s like something blocks the “upper movement” on the drivers side. tried to check with my fingers and flashlight and saw the draining pipe in weird position. Maybe something else is there blocking to. milk try to dismount the a-pillar and the other covers and check. how are they mounted? Screws?

POST 4Original post

Have a look at the Auto Atlanta parts diagrams.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok. I took of the motors and the left one (drivers side) the cog was totally worn on the motor. It needs to be changed. I guess you cant change it without change the whole motor? maybe the liners are ****ed up to..

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Update: I left the car to a Porsche center and they fixed it. It was the tube for the left liner that was the original issue. but both motors cogs where also worn so they changed 2motors liners tube sealing total cost was 3500$ish
