Oh, and already replaced the brake pedal switch about 3 months ago.

First thing I would do is replace the tail light bulbs.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It did end up being the brake light switch that fixed it.
Hello,
I have searched and read about every thread on this topic but I'm looking for advice. I parked at work today and noticed a weird problem: my rear lights will not turn off. They look to be DRLs not brake lights. All 3 lights are on in the rear with the car off. The light switch is set to OFF and I have moved it back and forth to on and off a couple times to make sure. The turn signals are not on, and I have pressed the brake to see if that turns them off. The only thing I have done differently is last night before turning the car off I turned my hazard lights on and I heard the hazard relay can mess up the lights. I have ordered a new brake switch to install since most threads mentioned this but I do not think it is the cause as they are not brake lights on but DRLs. They are very faint to see but they are on, any advice on what to do or where to start is greatly appreciated!
First thing I would do is replace the tail light bulbs. I have had two cars that had weird issues due to a blown bulb. I never thought a blown bulb could do that.
Another car I had with the same issue it turned out to be the brake light switch at the brake pedal.
For the time being, locate your fuse box which is right next to the dead pedal in the driver's footwell. Behind the cover for the fuse box there's a handy-dandy guide that will tell you which fuses control these lights. I'd pull them until you're ready to diagnose so that they don't drain your battery.
Drove today and there was a weird "thunk" that I felt through the brake pedal. I thought what the hell is that? After storing all the groceries in the frunk, checked it out. I have a small metal portable air compressor stored on the shelf behind the spare tire. It had managed to work its way over and was banging against the brake booster housing. No more thunk! Oh, and already replaced the brake pedal switch about 3 months ago. What a PITA! I've never been so contorted in my life....
Hey guys thanks for the help! It did end up being the brake light switch that fixed it. I should have just waited to get the part in before making a new thread but I appreciate all of the advice.
