Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use Caig Deoxit but rubbing alcohol or even a pencil eraser might do the trick.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This has happened three or four times in the last month. Four loud beeps and then the radio powers off. Sometimes it powers on again with the "On" button and sometimes it takes a few minutes. Yesterday it happened again and i was able to power it back on after a minute. I parked the car to go into a store. When I came back to the car I noticed that the radio was still playing (car off, doors closed). Does anyone know what the loud beeps mean? The issue with it staying on might be one of those mysterious ignition switch gremlins. Answer is here: http://986forum.com/forums/boxster-g...n-nothing.html

Get battery checked as it may be a "bad battery" with the cooler weather here in fall causing weak battery issues to surface.... Get it load tested to diagnose, especially if battery is beyond 3 years old and car isn't a daily driver. Good Luck!! Demosan

Thanks! Sounds like the same issue. I'll take a look.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

By George, I think that's it. With the radio on I removed the faceplate and after about 15 seconds the loud beeps sounded. I carefully cleaned the contacts on the radio and faceplate with Super-premium Porsche-approved rubbing alcohol using only the finest Porsche brand Q-Tips (from the Porsche Exclusive program). Thanks again to Optionman1 and SoCal991t!

POST 8Original post

I'm thinking that would have run you at least $1k at the dealer ... plus disposal fee of course! (for those contaminated Porsche Q-Tips...) Good Job
