Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought a groovy set of aftermarket projector headlights that look stunning, but in hooking them up could not get the high beams to come on. All else works and looks great. After using a circuit tester, determined the aftermarket socket sends power to the bulb connector, still have the issue. The pictures show that aftermarket unit is wired slightly different than OEM, What I need is to confirm the OEM socket on the car which pin holes carry what. (Ready to just do HID and power that.) Anyone know what holes in the headlamp socket belong to what? Schematics don't show face of plug and which pins are to what. I looked in the OEM headlight and posted that...THANKS for reading this mess. OEM high beams work, just not on aftermarket. OEM high beam has mystery wire (?) compared to direct aftermarket connector. Aftermarket pins that run to the bulb, proven to carry power from plug to the bulb, but won't come on when installed. Backside of OEM socket. Tracing brown and striped wires to the headlight. Aftermarket high beam has Blk and Red wires direct to bulb, nothing else....

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
