Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ran +7 in the rear, but I also used 997 wheels which are already +7mm negative offset vs.

Suggestion
Just run over to Home Depot or Menards and get some clear tubing.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For my birthday my wife and kids gave me a set of H&R springs. Had them installed yesterday. The H&Rs are coupled with Billy HDs. I track my car 8 or so weekends a year (hopefully more if time permits
) and wanted to flatten out the handling in the corners a bit but didn't want to drop the jack on coilovers. I also though that the car was sitting a little bit high. The stance is really improved. Much more fitting the car. The H&Rs didn't lower the car a full 1.25", most likely due to the Billy HDs raising the stock ride height, which I think is probably better and will reduce bottoming out, etc... The car drives very well on the street. Not bumpy and appears to corner significantly flatter. Looking forward to seeing the improvement on the track. My indie wrapped the front springs in plastic tubing to reduce any metal on metal noise where the springs and the struts touch. Here are a few pics pre and post spring install.

After H&R Springs
Dporto - Thanks. So far no issues with driveways, etc... I imagine I definately need to be more careful.
Fracture - Sorry I don't have any pics of the tubing. He used clear surgical tubing and pulled in over the spring. He only did the front because the rears are thicker in diameter and the tubing wouldn't fit. I didn't hear noise from the springs.
RJHerrmann - Agreed. Any advise on spacer size? The spoiler is Porsche factory part from a GT3 Cup car. I ordered it from Sunset Imports.
Nice.
What alignment specs did you use when you re-aligned? I went towards GT3 specs after installing my H&R sports, the combo made a huge difference on the track
Also, +1 on the spacers both for looks and performance... From the looks of it, you could maybe go +15 front and rear? I ran +7 in the rear, but I also used 997 wheels which are already +7mm negative offset vs. stock 996 wheels.
we couldn't quite get to GT3 spec but went for more negative camber than stock. Not sure of the specifics. I wasn't provided a print out of the specs. Thanks for the suggestion on the spacers. I definitely will be adding these soon. Need to figure out the correct size. Sent from my iPad using Rennlist
i have the h&r springs on my 993 c4s when i bought the car from the previous owner. i'm still adjusting to the lower ride height compared to my stock 993 targa. i should probably install a protective guard to keep it from too much damage from my own mistakes
Not really. It's only really for the OCD peeps and or guys that don't wanna chance any suspension noises from the progressive part of the springs(the section that is tightly wound on some aftermarket springs) as those can exhibit some clanking noises sometimes. This has nothing to do with corrosion protection as most high quality aftermarket springs are powdercoated and do not corrode easily.
You can also get some audio cable management wraps and do the same thing. Whiteline sells automotive branded wraps but basically the same thing.
What is the distance from your fender to the ground? Was interested in the Koni Sport Kit and it comes with H&R springs. Right now I sit at 26" and don't want it any lower than 25.25" so I can still get my jack under it with the puck.
They just may settle another .25". I think over the span of a month after mine were installed, that's about how much they settled. That was my favorite mod I have done to date...enjoy.

Measures out at 25 5/8" both front and rear. I would imagine it might settle down a bit more since they have only been on for about 2 weeks. I do have to be more careful about steep drives, dips in the road etc... From a day to day stand point the car really isn't any more difficult to get in and out of. The handling feels more stable and planted. Haven't got any track time on them yet, hopeful in the next month or so. Sent from my iPad using Rennlist
