After many searches here and other places, I have found a single reference to removing the handle of the E-brake. The post stated to remove the button and twist and pull off the "handle cover" (which has the dark burl inlay). I have the center console pulled and am replacing much of the trim work. I can't stand looking at cracked trim! While the handle is in good shape, the rest of the dark burl trim in my Cab has cracked in too many places to count. I could pull the entire brake assembly, but I really just want to change the handle "cover". I'm an ex-college lineman and pulled like hell on the cover to no avail!! Any suggestions??

So, having an old e-brake, I made a sacrifice to the repair gods! The handle can be removed!! It is held in place by what appears to be a 2 part rubberized epoxy. I had to destroy the first handle to discover this fact. Pics will follow. I'm going to try and heat the epoxy to see if it will soften for removal. Update coming tomorrow!

Twist, pull, and curse profusely. It's just glued on. Heat would probably help, but also make the twist and pull part not so easy.
