Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Only if all the springs (front +rear) have a blue tolerance marking , you can use the thin plates.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have an 2001 C4 and I am installing the above. My question is regarding the front strut rubber base between the spring and the support ring. Mine need to be replaced and the rubber bases come in 2 different thicknesses, 6.5mm or 3.0mm. My car currently has the 6.5mm version.
In looking into to this further the same part on the rear strut comes in 2 different thicknesses also. Those were in fine shape, so I did not replace them. While the difference is minimal, are the thinner rubber bases intended for the ROW suspension?
Check your new M030 springs.
You will see one single marking : blue or orange.
These tell you the tolerance of each spring.
A spring with a blue marking requires a thick compensator plate.
Springs with an orange marking need a thin compensator plate.
Gert,
The front springs have a green, purple, and silver markings, the rear springs have 2 white and a green marking. Neither spring has a blue or orange marking. I purchased the kit through Suncoast. If you have any further insite on this it would be appreciated.
It's the marking at the top of the spring that tells the spring tolerance.
They did change the colors codes through the years.
White marking : thin plate
Green marking : thick plate
The new front spring has a green marking on the top, and I ordered the thick plate since that is what was there already. The rear spring has a white marking so the thinner plate is needed. Since those were in good shape, I'm not sure what ones I have. I put the rear struts back together and installed them. I guess I will pull one back out to see if I have the correct support ring. Thanks for your help.
On the rear, the compensator plate it is the plastic piece that sits between the rubber and the spring top.
It is either 0,5mm (thin) or 4mm (thick)
With the white marker on the spring, you need the 0,5mm plate.
If you use a thick plate, the car will sit 3,5mm higher in the rear.
