Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have the hard top option for my cabrio. The rear defroster doesn't seem to work. Short of a blown fuse, does anyone know of another fixable cause. If it's a broken trace I might be able to fix that but I would also need to know the impedance of the mesh.

POST 2Original post

YOu have made me think,, where are the connectiosn for the rear defogger? I took my hardtop off this summer and darned if I thought about it at the time.. There were no extra connections..

POST 5Original post

Does the defrost work for the soft top and the mirrors? below is the wiring diagram if it's helpful.

POST 6Original post

so what is the answer to the electrical connection to the hardtop?? nothing dangling for attachment during roof mount. does the electrical connection come thru the 2 mounting pins? turned my button on and touched rear window after 10 minutes and didn't notice any difference in temperature.

POST 7Original post

As the picture shows above. Its part of the conection of the locking pin on the drivers side. As the top is put on and you tighten the back 2 locks the connection is made for the defroster.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
