Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I have a knocking noise coming from the drivers side rear of my 99 996. Ive read could be drop arm link that may need tightening. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it simple to access? Thank you.

POST 2Original post

Please more info on when the knocking occurs: all the time? on hard accel? when you turn hard in a certain direction? at all speeds? is the knocking a rhythmic sound?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The noise is only at slower speeds going over bumps going straight. No rythmic sound

POST 5Original post

U have 2 upper dog bone, 1 lower control arm, 1 toe bar, 1 fork bar, 1 sway bar and few parts in a shock that are all around 20 years old in your car and can cause a clunk. U need to inspect each component until u find the bad one. Honestly, u should probably just start replacing the rubber all the way around. Also it could be motor or trans mount.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Awesome. Thanks for the diagram!
