Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
not sure what the issue is but just don't let it happen again.
Leading evidence: 'but just don't let it happen' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'but just don't let it happen' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace cam chain tensioners' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

There seems to be two of them on each bank, one easily accessible from below and the other I guess from the top somewhere...I suspect AC compressor has to come out.

Been thinking some about this, will try and replace the cam chain tensioners.

Happened to me a couple months ago after stopping the car for a few minutes, and then restarting (like when running into the store to get something.) Really horrible sound, I cringe every time I start the car warm now hoping it doesn't happen again...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
Accidentally maybe once every six months, I stall the engine on tight space maneuvering. Every time, it makes this really hard mechanical clanking when I crank and it seems to catch slightly slower than normal. It never happens otherwise, cold, warm restart - no issues, only when stalling.
Always thought about it as a "personality" on my particular vehicle however just researched it and realise Im not alone...e.g.

Anyone ever found the solution? The noise is so horrible I dread stalling to the point I probably will get half or less of clutch mileage...
Mike
Happened to me once, and I agree that noise is brutal. not sure what the issue is but just don't let it happen again. I only stalled because my pressure plate was on it's way our and the sweet spot for engagement was gone making it much more difficult to take off from a stop.
Really only a few have had it and noone knows of root cause or resolution? People, go out amd stall your cars, lets see if its a design flaw or unusual error.

Will give it a try at some point, maybe after summer season is over.
If it makes a difference, I'll report back here.
