Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It appears that they've installed the steering wheel on the wrong side of your car - you may want to have that looked at.

He asked us if his repair cost of 2,000 dollars was reasonable.

My repair cost was $15,000 HKD, converted to USD approximately $2000.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello Porker group
New to this forum, just picked up my 996 C4S 45000km's on the clock.
Yesterday replaced
2x Engine mount
1x Gearbox mount
2x Gearbox gasket
1x changed transmission fluid
1x alternator
All for $2000
Did I get ripped off?
Cheers
Ripped off in comparison to what? DIY? yes... The parts in question probably tot up to less than $1000 which includes a reconditioned Alternator. If a Garage did it for you then NO I don't think you were ripped off. It seems like a pointless question aftyer the job was done. Did you not enquire into the cost of this work?
Did you shop around before you picked the shop that did the work? Were you fully apprised of the work to be done and the costs involved....and AUTHORIZED it before repairs were done? If YES to both, then no you were not.
Were you capable of DIY? If NO, then.........
He asked us if his repair cost of 2,000 dollars was reasonable. They don't use dollars over there.
He said his car has 45000 km. they use miles over there.
Chill guys, I am situated in Hong Kong. My repair cost was $15,000 HKD, converted to USD approximately $2000. Sorry to cause so much mis-understanding.
This is a sensitive group ...always on guard
I love how new my car felt after it's motor mounts were replaced ... I imagine you must be feeling the same.
I also enjoy working on my porker... And having only paid $100 or so for the mounts it was well worth it.
Enjoy.
Hi sorry for being so suspicious
But frankly translating your Hk dollars to usd to ask us guys if repair costs are reasonable is like me asking a German if eur3.50 is reasonable for a gallon of gas.
Costs vary wildly between countries
you got a steal in Hong Kong, excellent.
Oh wait, I've never been to HK, wouldn't have a clue...

Maybe "Porker" = slang for "Porsche" in Hong Kong? I haven't been to Hong Kong since I was there on the Nimitz right after Desert Storm, so I'll plead ignorance.
Anyhow, welcome to the group.
They call 'em "porkers" on the UK forums. They also call Mercedes "Mercs," which always takes a second to register because I'm (unfortunately) accustomed to Mercury going by this abbreviation.
My BMW X5 was referred to on the BMW forums as a "Chelsea tractor." It was not a term of endearment.
Merc as in "jerk in a Merc"
Along the same lines:
Creep in a Jeep
****** in a tanker
I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones I remember from my "youf"
