Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

- disconnect the light switch on the transmission then with key on engine off, jump the two pins on the connector (car harness side), the backup lights should come on.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I have a problem with my reverse lights. None of them are working. I've changed the light switch, fuse and bulbs with no luck. Any tips? Where do the wires go? Regards, Bjarte

What year and model? I can help you check the wiring diagrams later when I have access to them.

POST 3Original post

Is fuse B5 good? Power side mirror adjustments work?

POST 4Original post

By light switch you mean the one on the transmission itself, right? Just making sure, as it was my project last weekend and fixed my issue. They seem to be the common failure point.

POST 5Original post

Ok, if fuse is not the problem, try the following: - disconnect the light switch on the transmission then with key on engine off, jump the two pins on the connector (car harness side), the backup lights should come on. If not, you have a wiring issue. Then you should further check if one of the pins has 12v. - with the sensor disconnected and engine off, engage reverse gear. The two pins on the switch should have continuity. If not, either your switch is bad or something wrong inside the transmission. Basically the switch closes the circuit when reverse gear is engaged.
