Some posts suggest that the trim is glued in with the glass and you have to remove the glass to replace the trim.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My windshield surround is looking pretty ratty. The the part is not too expensive but Idont know how to install it. The trim around my back glass is coming loose in the corner, too. Everyone seems to agree these arent seals and dont hold the glass in place. Some posts suggest that the trim is glued in with the glass and you have to remove the glass to replace the trim.
Has anyone replaced the trim on the front or back glass? How did you do it?
Yes, I have replaced mine, pull it out, buy a new one, and press it in.
You need to get the spacing right or you'll end up with a whole lot of slack at the end of it. If that happens spread the slack out all the way from the bottom all the way around.
Dan_189 is referring to a rubber piece that fits in a groove of a piece of u shaped trim that slips on edge of glass before windshield gets glued in(with urethane).Someone here on rennlist actually broke that trim out piece by piece and replaced it NOT RECOMMENDED.You could chip/crack windshield cut/nick paint. Regards.
Thanks to both of you for the tips. I am talking about the outer rubber trim piece. It looks like its a justa press fit, but I wanted to make sure of that before I pull it off the windshield. Im trying to avoid mucking with adhesives or the inner parts of the seal.
Does anyone know if the outer trim on the rear window installs the same way? That one looks pretty good on my car, but one lower corner is starting to pull away from the glass.
From the parts diagram, it looks like there's a "sealing frame" and a "trim frame" for both front and rear. So in theory they're the same
. Mine's loose on the lower front, interested in hearing how this works out.

, wondering what came of this. The trim around my windshield flaps a bit when I hit "highway" speed, thinking maybe this will address the problem
.
The first thing to try is 3M Emblem & Trim adhesive. Clear, easy to apply, and it works to hold down those loose corners and trim pieces. I always have a tube in my drawer.

this was behind a few other projects and the good driving and wrenching weather is coming to an end in Chicago. I probably wont get to replacing the trim until next season.
