This is not a probability of success.

Nikos' Craigslist is probably the most economical option, but you'll still need one of these:
Leading evidence: 'most economical option' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'most economical option' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Maybe he thinks it's "one size fits all"?
OP, what key are you wanting? Are you thinking someone here bought a key and never programmed it with Porsche? Please explain. I never seen anyone in all my time, come to a forum and ask another owner for a key in this manner.
Nikos' Craigslist is probably the most economical option, but you'll still need one of these:

Then you'll need to get it cut. I've read this site does good work:
https://www.keysinthepost.com/
Then you'll need to take the newly cut key, your new remote to the dealer, and stuff your wallet with as many $20's as you can fit. I can't remember what people say they charge to program keys but it's not cheap.
If you can't get the used remote, here's a new one:

I asked this question in a similar thread and was told this wouldnt work.
I bought my 996 last week and ordered keys on the spot so I now have a valet and a blade.
so this would be a good option for me as well.
I would consult with your local Porsche dealership beforehand. In the thread below someone says that certain large-volume indies like RAC in Dallas can do them. They say you need to have the car and the key present, plus proof of ownership I have to imagine... I have no experience with this but I figured I'd help the fella out with at least some resources.
