Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Opened up the trunk the other day while waiting for the family to hop in the car and noticed a line of fluid running from about the middle of the inner lip on the rear trunk over to the right side near the Mobil 1 sticker. The pictures tell a better story. I poked around for a bit and couldn't come up with any obvious source. Thoughts?

POST 2Original post

Pollen? Manually raise your spoiler and check around and under the bellows. Might be some crud in there.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 16978209

I don't think it's pollen...more of a viscous liquid. Consistency of oil. The spoiler looked clean with good, flexible and clean rubber.

POST 5Original post

Looks like clean motor oil to me. Have you had the oil changed recently? Any other service done recently?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 16978410

Lots of recent service...IMSB a few months ago and more recently spark plugs/tubes and coils.

POST 8Original post

Check this little coolant line coupling here, the factory version is plastic and known to break/crack as it ages if you touch it or even look at it hard. URO sells an Aluminum version for about $15 and a Stainless Steel version is available for about $50..

POST 9Original post

I replaced that little plastic coolant coupling when my engine got swapped out. But, I just go the same plastic part. It shouldn't decide to crack for almost no reason for a long time. But if it is 18-20 years old, be careful when you mess with the oil filler tube or if you remove your alternator. I also have heard that it can brake just barely touching it.

Helpful, thank you. I'll look in there and see what I find.
