Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can I purchase the soft rubber radio ***** as an individual piece? The right hand **** on my non-Bose system is glossy & sticky.

Yes. Here is one source(Pelican Parts) there are others. Make sure it fits your specific radio.

One of my radio ***** was like that and the other was kind of crusty. I wiped both of them with isopropyl alcohol - they're perfect now - it's been a few weeks and they haven't gotten sticky again. It's worth a shot

POST 4Original post

I pulled off the ***** and soaked them in kerosene for a few minutes. Then I wiped off the remaining soft-touch paint with a rag. Cleaned them with alcohol and they look great and aren't sticky anymore. This is on my PCM2.

POST 5Original post

I also pulled ***** off and whipped the rubber off just using alcohol exposing the black plastic. It looks fantastic and no more sticky ***** ever And took only 5 minutes.

POST 6Original post

Mine were not only sticky but mushy, so I drew them up in Fusion360 and 3D printed them. No way I was going to pay that much for replacements. I put the design up on Thingiverse if anyone is interested. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4487366

POST 7Original post

I bought mine on ebay but I like wyovino's answer the best. Well done!

POST 8Original post

I needed a pair of new ***** and bought them on eBay for $36 plus tax w/free shipping.
