I wouldn't change my taco wing, but I like the look of yours.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well I just purchased my first Porsche and I couldn't be more excited. I've been on this forum for several hours a day since I bought it last week. It is currently on a transport truck headed to NC. I should have it on Tuesday.
It is a 1999 with 53,000 miles. It was purschased from a family friend and I am the third owner. It is very clean inside and out. It has the aero package which I'm told is factory but I have not seen the same tail fin on any of the other cars shown with the aero package.
I'm learning more about it each day and I'm sure with help of all you I will find the answers to my questions.
Nice car! Congratulations. I'm certainly no expert, but from what I've seen/researched, the tail doesn't look like any I've seen that were offered as OE. That being said, I like the "whale-tail" look - it beats the "Taco" IMO...
Beautiful car! this is the first spoiler on a 996 that I actually like and I don't usually like the whale tails at all anyways. Yours really molds to the curves of the car, I'm impressed. Is the windshield tinted or are my eyes deceived?
Congrats and enjoy!
Congrats.
Tail is NOT factory. Other pieces appear to be though. You're missing the front lower splitter but not everyone puts them on since they tend to scrape or break off easily if you have sharp inclines/declines.
You lucked out with painted rear bumperettes/bbs sport classics/ and clear pumpkins but please remove that gawd awful steering wheel cover. It makes your interior look like a Camry. You also lucked out with the optional exhaust tips considering yours is a '99 model.
Is your windshield fully tinted by chance?
Thanks for your comments. I agree with your comment about the steering wheel cover. It's from the previous owner and will come off as soon as the car gets to NC!
Someone made some tasteful upgrades - the 3-spoke steering wheel, for example.
I've never seen that wing before - not bad, but as others mentioned, DEFINITELY didn't come from Porsche that way. The correct '99 Aero wing is the "taco spoiler," with its c-shaped side profile - mine is a MKII wing. I personally don't dig the taco, so I'm a fan of all wings non-taco.
Unless you're a fan and/or you plan to park outside, delete that rear wiper.
Eww... that wing looks terrible on your car. Please remove it from your car and inbox me for my address, I'll pay for shipping and will take it from you.
Thanks!
Joking aside, that's a great looking machine and I love that wing. If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know. <3
I'll take a look at the service records and documentation when I get the package from the previous owner. If there is any info on the wing I'll let you know. Thanks for your comments!
