Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I don't have much to compare it to because I have only driven a few 996's for test drives when I was in the hunt for a Porsche - never owned one.
Leading evidence: 'Test drives' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test drives' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Guys-
I spent a lot of time on here and asked a lot of q's - IMS, etc - and you guys were gracious enough to be patient with me. I went forward on a 997.1 instead of a 996 that was local to me and got a great deal. Thanks again guys - Rennlist rocks. Just drove it home this morning. How surreal. Here is a few pics the buyer had before I bought it.
Ha... when I saw the thread title, I though to myself "We actually provided useful and helpful information to someone? I wonder what that could have been?"
Now it all makes perfect sense... we convinced someone to not buy a 996.
P.S.: Nice looking ride, Tlisotta!
Thanks! LOL. I actually was searching for a 996 C4S - ironically after I committed that one that was posted yesterday - seal grey - looks awesome. I would have put a deposit on it ASAP if I was not picking this one up today.
Like myself, Pete and Dennis (among others), you will find that you will spend more time on the 996 forum than the 997 Forum. You'll see!
Nice ride BTW!
Thou speaketh the truth. And yes that is a nice ride. Interested in the OP's thoughts after a few weeks.......he'll have more seat time than me even though I have owned mine since July
I will keep ya informed. I don't have much to compare it to because I have only driven a few 996's for test drives when I was in the hunt for a Porsche - never owned one. We will see. We have a DE PCA event coming up at Motorsports Ranch in Dallas on the 14th of Feb. That should be fun
