I used go out and warm him up but I have read somewhere maybe here that letting him sit and idle is not really good for the engine so I dont do that anymore I just wait until I can drive it.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This is how my car is sitting right now. I do drive it and it typically is not covered in snow. That will likely be removed today. I just like to wait a few days for the roads to clear. I do not leave snow on the rag top.
I used go out and warm him up but I have read somewhere maybe here that letting him sit and idle is not really good for the engine so I dont do that anymore I just wait until I can drive it. At that time I do give it a good 5 minute warm up before I get moving. I put Techron in every full tank in the winter. I believe in that product.
So here are some images because I know we all like to see them.
As someone who lives in the South, I don't have to experience this but a couple of times a year. If you get a ton of snow, I would add a sealant of some sort to extend the life of your top.
An educated engine guy I know says get in the car, let the electronic oil gauge do its thing, start the car, fasten your seat belt and drive off. Keep rpms under 3k until the water gauge shows above 160f before adding rpm. This plan gets the engine off of the "rich" fuel cold start condition quickly and helps to prevent fuel dilution which, as 808 says above, can contribute to bore scoring. The guy I am paraphrasing knows his stuff...
I hit the touchless car wash very offen. It washes the undercarriage. These cars are no different then any modern car. They can rust but not as easily. They are built to be daily drivers in all weather. This is what I believe anyway. You may not and thats fine.
Cmon man. I am not afraid of this boogeyman. I gonna drive my car.
All this talk could make someone feel like this car is no good and I disagree. I drive like any other car I own. I didnt buy it to be afraid to drive it. You do what you want and I will do what I want.
See now I get that. Thats good information so I will follow that advice. I am going to take a photo shot of this page and put it in a file so I can refer to it until I get used to it. Thanks
Im sorry buddy but I am not a troll. If you dont like what I have to say the dont join in on the thread.
I have learned a lot about my car here and continue to. I also find some of the threads entertaining.
No reason to get so serious man.
Bill, the ignore feature works really well. You can find it under user CP. I've got this guy and a couple of others on it. They think they're smarter than everyone else, and won't listen. It's just easier to put them on ignore than to read their incessant drivel.
You guys can do what you want. I listen to information thats given to me. When I dont get it I as for more information thats all.
I just think you guys are to impatient. Consider that.
If you want to block me the go ahead. That will be my loss and your loss because I have learned from 808 but like I said to impatient. The person in the next response put the same information that 808 was trying to say. The difference is that he explained it. He didnt just hint at it. LOL sometimes I dont understand why people get so unsettled. Ill leave it alone from here.
Instead of going all snarky on 808 you could have asked him for a clarification on his comment. He knew this information prior to my posting it. He was trying to help and you blasted him. Maybe follow your signature saying a little closer...

I bet most derogatory things that are said in computer forums would never be said face to face. A computer can make a man boy act like he has a set of *****. Why not be nice and act like a gentleman. Help people out. After all we are here for one reason. We like our cars."
Clear day here in Upstate New York.
Rain previous couple days, so most of the salt is washed off the road
Off comes the car cover, unplug the battery tender and back her out.
Nice 45 minute ride, what a tease though, now back in the garage. With a gloomy forecast coming.
This is the first winter I didn't use a fuel stabilizer for winter storage. I usually use Lucas Oil stabilizer.
I am not convinced that stabilizer should be used in our cars.
I have seen previous posted Blackstone Oil Analysis from other cars, that picked up traces of the stabilizer chemicals.
No idea what it picked up, but if it was found in the oil, it is probably not good.
Any thoughts?

Its funny, but that was what I was told to do back in the 70s when I started driving. Have always done exactly this with all of my cars over the years. Makes sense to me to get all the components up to temp at the same time, esp. tranny and differential. Also saves some gasoline at the expense of comfort...
