Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need a pair of stud "hangers" for installing wheels...without these its a b***h. I have a pair from my BMW but they seem to be a different size thread. One site says that BMW PORSCHE etc are the same....what is the thread ??

POST 3Original post

I went to ACE hardware and bought 2 bolts, 5 inch long bolts, cut the head off one at 4 inches and rounded it off, and left the other bolt at 5 inches and rounded off. reason for difference makes it easier to line up one stud in the wheel and then the second one instead fighting to line up 2 holes at the same time. all for less than 10 dollars.

You know the Porsche ones are like $12 each. Aluminum as well so it is light. Not everything should be DIY.

POST 5Original post

I bought this kit....got them all covered Amazon Amazon

Thanks! Ive got one for BMW and 1 for Porsche in my work area, but one of these kits would be great to cover all cars. I also have a Porsche one in my frunk. (I dont want to have to dig it out every time I work on a Porsche) I dont need the one in my car since I switched to wheel studs and lug nuts. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...01467ecs01kt7/

I (we) only wish we could do what you do...yes, making your own tools is great...good friend of mine used to make tools up for specific recurring jobs that he has when working at he NYC PD garage.. Same things would break on the cars, he had some of the jobs down to 1/2 hour that other mechanics took 3 hours to do...

I think the idea of different lengths is brilliant....I may cut one of my Porsche ones. Thanks for the tip ( no pun intended)

POST 12Original post

I bought a pair from Amazon and promptly misplaced them. I bought a second pair because I knew that it would ensure finding the the original pair (it did). Ending up with two different lengths wasn't intentional but it IS useful. I think I'm in for about $18.00 including shipping for all 4 studs.

POST 13Original post

I too love the idea of two different sizes! Thanks for the tip!
