Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there a difference on mufflers between C2, C4, Tip, or manual? or does one fit all. Looking to pick up some used and want to make sure there are no surprises. thank you

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

also, what is a fair price for a used set of good cans with 40K on the clock?

POST 3Original post

The mufflers will fit any of the narrowbody cars regardless of sub-model. You need to watch out for Mufflers off a C4S as the tip outlets are wider and will not fit a C2/C4.

POST 4Original post

I replaced mine with one from ebay with 46K miles mufflers from a wrecked southern car. I paid $215 for a pair with shipping included. I think around $200-250 for a pair with shipping inluded would be a fair price.

POST 5Original post

I have a nice set of Fabspeed mufflers from my 2001 996 track car. I only needed them for Limerock (noise regs) and now have a full race exhaust. They come with chrome tips. PM me if interested and I can take pictures. I planned to get them up on Rennlist this weekend anyway John

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So i still need a bit of clarification. tips aside, are the basic cans identical?

POST 8Original post

The cans themselves are interchangeable between any non turbo models but the Tiptronic versions generally have the accordian pipe piece inline but doesn't affect any actual fitment between manual and tip models.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
