I've been losing a very small amount of coolant for quite sometime but have only just worked out where it was coming from (checked rads, heater core, hoses....).

I'll at some point replace the ali pipe, probably when I refresh the underseal, for now I've moved the rubber hose 1cm further over the ali pipe, temporary fix.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, I've been losing a very small amount of coolant for quite sometime but have only just worked out where it was coming from (checked rads, heater core, hoses....). Anyhow, there was a pin hole sized leak in one of the ali hoses under the car (behind engine) where the rubber hoses attach. I'm not 100% sure if it's a corrosion or fatigue failure as the rubber hoses will move about a bit. I never suspected these, definitely worth a check if you've a slow leak. The hole was tiny but amazing how much came out with engine revving! It looked to have been leaking a while, some light rust below I've tidied up (where undertray attaches). I'll at some point replace the ali pipe, probably when I refresh the underseal, for now I've moved the rubber hose 1cm further over the ali pipe, temporary fix. Daniel
