Suggestion

Depending on the wheels, I also think the 19s look too big for our cars; with the correct tire size and 18s, they can fill the wheel well quite nicely.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, I am purchasing a 02' 4S with Porsche 991 replica wheels with 235/35/19 front and 315/25/19 Toyo Proxes tires. The tires were stretched on and are creating a vibration when the car goes over 40mph (Both left tires are bad, second harmonic problem). I am looking to put new tires on. Not sure what size configuration or brand would be ideal. Thanks in advance for any input!

POST 2Original post

I have 245/35/R19s on the front and 305/30R19s on the rear of my 19 Champion RG5s. Went with General tires from TireRack. They are serviceable tires as I dont track my C4S at all. If you live in a city with crappy roads like I do, I would consider going back to 18s.

Thank you so much! Looking at the GTs, G-Max RS. Seems to be in the ballpark of what I am looking for.

POST 4Original post

I would recommend 18 wheels. Great ride, plenty of tire options. There is a set of 18s GT3 for WB fitment in the classifieds. They look great on our cars. No affiliation.

POST 5Original post

I run 235/35 on the front and 295/30 on the rear with Michelin Super Sport and no problems at all. More stiff ride than stock, but also more grip and direct steering.

POST 6Original post

I have the same tire sizes as Paris above And have no issues. Also its important to stay within spec regarding the overall diameter front to rear based on the awd and the aforementioned tires sizes do.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks gents! I greatly appreciate your input. Car currently has 19's, 991 replicas. Tires need to be replaced, still weighing options. Not sure if I should keep the wheels and replace the tires or change out the whole setup for 18's. @jllphan @parris looks like; 235/35 on the front and 295/30 on the rear with Michelin Super Sport are the right move for the 19's. Do you guys feel springs or coilovers would be necessary to get the ride height looking right? Currently as it sits, looks like a safari height.

POST 8Original post

Yes, the stock ride height (particularly in the front) is not terribly aggressive, so a mild drop is a welcome mod imo. Im currently working on that now.

POST 9Original post

When I purchased my C4S it came with 19" HREs I also had the OEM 18s to test, albeit with old tires. I thought the 18s actually handled better than the 19s. The 19s were just that little too harsh not allowing chassis/tire combo to do their job. That side by side confirmed that going with the 18 APEX wheels with correct off-sets and tires sizes was the best decision. Depending on the wheels, I also think the 19s look too big for our cars; with the correct tire size and 18s, they can fill the wheel well quite nicely.

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 16884699

I have mounted the OEM RoW C4S springs, that are lower than the ones we got in US. They are not as lower as the HRs for instance, but I personally finde the original height of the RoW C4S/Turbo just on point. Plus, with the19" you can see that the front tires are just on the limit of touching the wheel liner. I think that if I would have gone with lower springs, my wheels would touch when turning.

POST 11Original post

I just went through this decision on my 01 996 C4 Cab. I wanted all seasons to avoid having to change wheels with the weather so I went with Bridgestone Potenza RE980-AS 285/30/19 and 235/35/19. So far I'm happy with the decision.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

@cwbrown Thank you so much for chiming in! This is the exact situation I am in. I have been weighing Apex as a wheel solution. What tires are you running? Car looks great in your profile. Do you have any other photos? Thanks! @parris I had no idea the RoW springs were lower than U.S. springs, thank you for the heads up!
