I am not worried about the wheels filling the rim in the winter and am not planning to drive much in the snow per se, just more for cold, dry weather.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am planning to switch to my 17" OEM winter wheels in the next couple of weeks due to temperatures dropping below 7C... I am currently running 19" summer wheels with 7mm spacers on the front and 14mm on the rear, with H&R Street Performance coil-overs and sway bars. Assuming the offsets on the winter wheels are the same as summer, should I keep the spacers on or take them off? In other words, are there any cons to keeping them on (winter handling, higher profile tires, exposure to salt, etc.)? I am not worried about the wheels filling the rim in the winter and am not planning to drive much in the snow per se, just more for cold, dry weather. Thanks! Bill

POST 2Original post

I would remove just to lessen the chance of any winter corrosion on the spacers if not needed.

POST 3Original post

I have never felt the need for spacers with 17" winter setups so would advise keeping them off
