Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Counting the original MCD plug this is the third one to go sideways. What was first thought to be an ill-fitting washer now turns out the oil seepage is tracking through the plugs wiring. Anybody experiencing this ?

POST 2Original post

Year/make/model always helps. What is an MCD plug?

POST 3Original post

Typically the potting material will only fail if the unit is torqued more than 19#. I replied to your support ticket earlier today.

The IMS Guardian by FSI.

POST 5Original post

Oh...huh. I guess good to know. Didn't they stop making/selling that years ago?

Yes, When Porsche discontinued the switches used for the Guardian dash integration, the product died. We had bought over 1,000 switches, and when they were gone, the product was abandoned. I think the last unit was made in 2013. Another company bought the rights to the technology a while back, and I expected them to change the product, and bring it back to market. They have not done that, yet... Not sure why, or when they will.

Sure seemed like a great product. One of the first things I tried to buy when I got my m96 with an unserviceable bearing and the Solution was not an option for it at the time.
