And of course I am already contemplating what changes I will make, though for starters it will just be some cosmetic stuff.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Brought home my '99 996 today! I actually acquired it last Monday, however from the seller I took it directly to the shop for clutch, IMS, and a few other items. It's all stock with 76k miles, and has a Boxster red interior (with leather dash), which I think looks great with the silver exterior. Also has LSD, a nice addition as I plan on AX and DE. Still needs a few minor things taken care of, such as passenger side window adjustment and driver side window microswitch. And of course I am already contemplating what changes I will make, though for starters it will just be some cosmetic stuff. Got to drive it for a while as is before deciding where to focus my attention. Photos are from when I picked it up Monday, still need to give it a proper cleaning and take some better images...

Congrats! You finally found one. Enjoy it, and good call getting the maintenance done. Now for those pumpkins...

POST 5Original post

POST 9Original post

I had almost forgotten what an unmolested 996 looked like. Rare to say the least on these pages. And from your posting it won't be long before another one 'bites the dust'.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! Yes, definitely glad I waited and took the time to check out several of them before making the purchase. Lights are on the list. Along with the Fister exhaust mod, as it's way too quiet. I will get some posted soon, just needs a bath and some clean up first...

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay, got some better photos, including interior shots.

POST 12Original post

Love it... whatever you paid for it you got a good deal. It's flippin awesome.

POST 13Original post

Congratulations! Just bought ours to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and couldn't be happier. We owned a few Porsches in the past but never a 911. The last one we had was a 2004 Cayenne Turbo - very fast and thirsty! Anyway, this one has only 52,000 miles and a 6-speed. Not much other stuff but does have a sunroof and the soft leather with memory seats - nice for us old farts. We aren't planning on any mods as we just want to enjoy it the way it is. Best of success to you with yours.

POST 14Original post

Bumperettes are painted, normally they are black. Great freeby.

POST 15Original post

Nice to see another well cared for 996 C2 even after 15-16 years from new. Congrats and thanks for the pics.

POST 16Original post

I dig the color combo. Boxster Red looks great under the silver exterior. Make some modest updates (like the pumpkin swap) and enjoy the ride.

POST 18Original post

Very clean! Like Hurdi said, refreshing to see a '99 bone stock. But if you stick around here, it won't be for long! Enjoy!

POST 21Original post

very cool interior, I wonder who spec'd this car? jmo, but I'd consider a 3 spoke steering wheel very nice car, enjoy!!
