Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Was looking at the exhaust today....have seen it before, it looks like the stock mufflers, but since it sounds soooo nice when you get on it I figured it might be modified. Looked at it again and it has a pipe going from the "goes in" welded to the "goes out" pipe, it's a super nice job and the pipe is perfectly formed.
After looking at the Gonzo and Fister pictures, it appears to be a Fister mod, I bet the previous owner did it as a youtube for sale video of my car posted in July 2013 shows the car did not have the Fabspeed exhaust tips, so I bet whoever owned it last did the tips and the mod.
Here are a few pictures:
I like when others have done mods that I did not have to do! I was wondering why anybody would modify the stock exhaust (what I thought I had) because it was already PERFECT! No, the modified exhaust is PERFECT!
Full throttle at about 5000-6500 RPM from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th just sounds so KICK ***! Kinda like a race car. But on the highway just cruising, it doesn't make much noise, I thought it was stock.
Sure looks like it. Good for you! One of the best mods I had done to mine. Along these same line... My wife got me a GT3 console delete kit for Christmas/Birthday and when I put it in New Year's day I also found what appears to be a blue B&M short shifter. Who knew... after 2 years?
I remember when I first got my car and thought to myself that it sounded great as well. I wondered why people would even bother with changing out the exhaust because I felt it was fine.
Then I checked the paperwork binder and noticed that the previous owner had PSE installed after he purchased the car. Well that explained why I had no complaints!
I used to love the playing card mod as a kid so I'd probably love the Fister. I'm pretty sure there is absolutely no gain in hp and if there is a little gain or even a little loss no driver would be able to feel it. An even bigger smile than normal is a great thing though when one hears the sound at the right rpm.
I've had a lot of exhausts, but the Fister is my favorite.
It's funny how many people don't even know what is on the car, even when it would help them sell it. I've bought cars with all sorts of upgrades that the owners didn't even know about.
Just installed the Fister D today. I've had a lot of exhausts in my time and have spent a whole lot more to get less. Really happy with the sound. Sounds pretty normal just cruising around but hit the gas and it is something else. Install went pretty smooth but the bumper cover doesn't quite line up as good as I would like it. Sticks out a little under one tail light. Is there a trick to get it perfect?
It's nice to get a surprise like that. I traded my 996 C4S at a Porsche dealer when I bought my 997. It had quite a few mods, including Fister sport mufflers. I did provide the dealer wtih all the maintenance records as well as a complete list of the mods, but I wouldn't be surprised if this never made it into the hands of the buyer. The car sold almost immediately after it went onto their used car lot.
