Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

bone head move. I disconnected the battery on my 2002 C4 Cab, then closed the frunk. The doors are unlocked, but I can't open the doors now because the window won't drop the 1/2 inch to open! From my understanding, there is no manual release on the '02s. Any ideas? on how to get this open again?

POST 2Original post

Doors won't open? That sounds weird. Mine open with a dead battery. From there you can use the emergency poles in the fuse box to energize the frunk release mechanism.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In a cab, the windows drop a 1/2" when you unlock the door. So, without the window dropping, I can crack the door, but the window is engaged into the cab top, and thus, I can't open the door.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK...solved. I just applied some downward pressure on the door and it allowed the clearance I needed to open the door

POST 5Original post

OMG downward pressure on the hinges??? I thought I had all of the smart moves hahaha.

Downward pressure on the door!! Given how precious and fragile these cars are, clearly you'll now need to get the car on a uni-body frame straightening machine

POST 7Original post

You better flat bed it to your nearest indy and have the IMSB checked as well...

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 11929399

no worries.... I had the IMSB removed when I got the car. Figured I'd rather have no bearings at all rather than one that blows up. I did it at the same time I removed all the coolant in order to convert to an Air-cooled Porsche.

Glad to see you come right back with the snarky comments! This is a fun bunch!

POST 10Original post

Next time that happens you have an emergency release wire under your front bumper. Sometimes its unreachable, so you might want to find and relocate that for the future.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 11929686

I thought that was only for the MKI's?

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 11929686

You can relocate that release cable so that it is just behind the front bumper cover and accessible through the tow hook hole. So if there is a dead battery, just pop out the tow hook cover, fish around with your finger to find the cable and release the frunk latch. 'Course it helps if you lubricate the latch ahead of time with unicorn snot (more versatile than other bodily fluids).

POST 14Original post

Procuring unicorn snot part #996 000 000 01: "The answer: It is almost impossible to hunt; the only method seems to be to take advantage of the unicorn's great love of purity and innocence. If a young virgin is placed in the unicorn's way it will approach with reverence, lie down beside her, lay its head down in her lap, and fall asleep. The hunters can then capture the beast. Or: To catch a unicorn, a beautiful, young woman must sit beneath a tree in the woods and sing softly, if there is a unicorn present, the it will come and rest it's head in the woman's lap, and then the woman must place a golden bridle on the unicorns head. There are also stories that if a young virgin offers to nurse a unicorn it will then gladly follow her and do as she wishes." (so would I)
