Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Firstly, I am not affiliated with Function First in any way shape or form. I am just a customer of Luka's and thought Rennlist deserved another review on the product. Here are some pictures. I placed the Function-First stickers on the motor mounts as I had no other place to actually use them. Pictured on Left is the new one, pictured on right is the OEM. You can easily see that my originals were very worn out. Installing them was a breeze, I used this link to follow the DIY to install the mounts. They are very well made and I've had them installed in the car now for 3 days and have put about 50 miles on them so far. When comparing to my OE setup, there is some NVH in the cabin. Being a MK1 there are some worn out pieces in my car and with the new motor mounts, I can definitely hear one or two extra rattles now. However, I'm very accustomed to these noises so it doesn't bother me. The actual pieces are phenomenal as they clean up the shifting incredibly and my exhaust tips look better on the car and more importantly, I have an extra inch of clearance under the car by raising the motor back up to it's intended height. For the price, I would say this was an incredible purchase and modification. I am now looking forward to purchasing the transmission mounts next month along with a SSK to really crisp up the shifts. I would recommend this modification to anyone. I'll report back after 200-500 miles in regards to the NVH.

POST 3Original post

I like mine as well and think it's better than the other poly ones out there for a daily driver, based on experience. A good compromise between firmness and nvh.

POST 5Original post

Awesome! I'm glad you're liking the results! NVH should subside slightly as you put some miles on the car. All 996s use the same engine mounts, including the Turbos.
