Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If so, its a wonderful car and I took it out for a test drive
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Judging by my post history, it looks like it's been over 9 years since I sold my 993. Typical story at the time, small kids, big bills, etc. and the car rarely got used. (Even with 2 car seats stuffed in the back)
Decided recently that it was time to buy another one and started the serious shopping. With what I wanted to spend, it came down to a really good 996, or just an ok 997. After looking at several 997s in my price range and not being happy with their condition, I made the decision that it was going to be a 996.
Brought the car home last night - 2002 C4S in silver / black. It just had the LN IMS bearing, clutch, and RMS done. Also got all fluids / filters / belt changed and new tires & battery.
Needless to say, I'm pretty happy to be back.

Sounds like you got the same as I got... You will love the car and the longer you have it the more you are going to enjoy it... Congratulations :-)
As everybody else have said... PHOTOS PLEASE!!!
PS. We had the fist propper snow the same day I picked up the car in Geneva 2 years ago and driving on summer tyres with an engine placed in the back was not the happy experience I had hoped for. 100 miles took 4 hours for me to drive, but I got the car home in one piece :-)
You guys got my first order for it, for a whopping 8 bucks.
(It was missing the cigarette lighter so I ordered the 12v plug)
Next two items on the list are a switch for the garage door opener and a double din nav unit.
Was this the car at Polar Porsche? If so, its a wonderful car and I took it out for a test drive
and considered it for myself, but have decided on a turbo instead.
Good luck with the car!
I'm also at the Jersey shore.
congrats!
993/air cool guys can be a bit snobby about their cars, but having owned 1989 carrera cab(and 7 other P-cars), i'm VERY happy w/ my 2003 C4S

I had the wheels changed before I bought it. I have never been a fan of those 997 wheels, so I had the original twists put back on the car with new tires.
Awesome news. Thank you for the support. If you have any questions or need help finding something feel free to PM anytime. Great looking car by the way, looks to be in great condition.
I agree that the lobster's are not my favorite wheel on a 996, but for a low price point, they are a good quality wheel for a driver. They look decent on my MK1 C2, IMHO.
I'll "third" the Lobster Fork comments... They're certainly nice wheels, I just don't like the look on the 996. The twists are "classic" looking to me...
ya - I've been thinking about doing these in gunmetal or matte black.
I think they look good. Maybe not quite as nice as the right set of 18" aftermarket wheels, but hard to argue with a sub $1K price point with useable tires!
"Funny...i am opposite. If i bought wheels today they would be lobster fork! Then inwoul have them powdercoated gunmetal gray! "
Yup, variety is the spice of life! Imagine if every P-car looked the same? Eiwwwwwwwwwww
That makes sense, but it would be nice to get your impressions between the two once you've had a bit more seat time. I've been thinking about picking up a 993 if the price/situation is right. Nice looking ride and agree with the move back to the twists!

Totally different cars for different purpose/situation.
996 - great daily driver, more refined creature comforts and ride, non investment car
993 - a little rough around the edges to be a pleasant/enjoyable DD(compared to 996), good investment potential, use as a weekend car
