I have the tools to replace IMS bearings, but I really don't want to take on that liability.

For this I wouldn't be making the rough cuts in the engine case I see some making, I'd be using a proper grinding tool and making a smooth cut.

So I just sold a car meaning I have more space at my house. You can look for that story in the 944 forum. I also have a Miata that I am going to sell soon when the right buyer comes along. I'm not one to sell cars unless I like the buyer too.
Anyway I've been wanting to install a 4 post lift in my garage. What if I were to start offering 996/986 997/987 M96 / M97 PPI services in DFW? Would I have 1 or 10 clients a year? Would it be worth the time / risk / money? I would drop the pan, borescope the cylinders, take photos, video and provide it to the potential buyer. I would also check wheel bearings, axle boots, AOS vacuum, codes, cam timing (purchase a dealer durametric), over revs, inspect the coolant reservoir, see how the car cold starts, shifts, handles, etc. Would anyone use this service?
I am starting my own business and have a little more time for things like this or will in the near future. I also could operate this as an LLC under the parent company or as it's own entity.

I'm also on the lookout for a nice 3.2L or 3.4L M96 5 chain core for my own purposes. I plan to build my own spare engine for both of my cars.
I�ve heard good things about them. I�ve been to Zim�s a few times. They are good but super busy. I do anything I can do because I have a hard time trusting shops to be good and fair.
