Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace a/c; he let slip' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace a/c; he let slip' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had a shop drop in cat bypass pipes in my 2001 C2. We also dropped in little extenders were the sensors screw into the cat bypass pipes. With the extenders, the check engine light won't come on but, they read as pending. Because the cat sensors are pending, the secondary air sensor won't engage. Without the secondary air engaged, the car can't pass inspection. Any ideas?
difficult to get a catless car through emissions in most states these days. swap back to stock cats, pass emissions, and go back catless or simply go with 100 or 200 cell cats. i pass with 200 cells on most of my cars.
Move to Florida; we did away with emissions tests and annual car safety inspections along time ago. Boom - problem solved. We do, however, have a lot of rolling garbage on our roads, but that's the price for convenience.
Just run high flow 200 cell cats. It gets you most of the performance gain, retains most of the environmental protection, and also keeps you legal. Catless pipes seem like a very poor compromise by comparison (for a street car).

I have these with FVD catless and my 2002 C2 just passed Colorado emissions inspection. No pending faults and everything in the emissions system functions normally, including SAI. Been running them over a year and yet to have a CEL.
I just dont understand this... the cats are required, to protect the environment, arent they? Dont you all care about the environment? I hired an HVAC guy to replace our A/C; he let slip that hed just let it fly... (the coolant type that he was required to capture). VW designing millions of cars to evade emission standards... I really dont get it.
You will need to complete the drive cycle.
Start the car and do not let it warm up.
Do not go over 4k rpms and 60 mph.
Get on the nearest freeway and set cruise to 59mph
Drive for 20 mins in the slow lane with your flashers on
If you have an odb2 scanner you can monitor until they flip to ready.
I was running the x-pipe and passing without issue once I did the drive cycle. Cats were in the ready state.
Then one year they decided to do a visual. :/
And our cars can go 195 mph when the speed limit is 70 mph. How can that be allowed, don't you care about saving lives? (See how that works?)
VW designed millions of cars to evade emissions standards because they are a corrupt multinational corporation looking to maximize their bottom line. They did it because they thought they could get away with it. If you don't get that you don't understand human nature. Not saying it's right but it's pretty easy to understand.
Back to the subject at hand, you can get the emissions test to run with a PIWIS clone if the drive cycle doesn't work. It won't set it to ready but it will force the test to run.
