Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Clean contacts' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'american car' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust headlights' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Unless someone changed it out, I would suspect American car.

Are you using the main headlight switch to turn on and off the fog lights?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, I have an 01 cabriolet. The rear fog light works fine but the front two do not. The indicator for the front fog lights is constantly illuminated in the interior, no matter what lights are on or off, just as long as the car is running. This makes me think its both bulbs that are burnt out but Im not sure, as I cant find any articles describing what the car does when bulbs are burnt out...
this car was either bought in canada or the US, Im not sure about that either. I dont seem to hear a relay click when I try to turn on the front fog lights but both the front and rear go through the same relay, right? The rear one works fine as I said. The fuse to the left of the drivers footwell works fine but that is to be expected. Ive cleaned the contacts for both headlights.
Your description of this and your problem....well...sucks. I cannot ascertain what you are describing and what the problem is. Are you using the main headlight switch to turn on and off the fog lights? The rear fog light? Left or right? You don't know where the car is from...Canada or US? Not sure if there is a DRL relay, or if the car is wired for the DRL relay? Wow...just wow!
Im saying the front two fog lights (One click out on the headlight switch) do not work and the indicator for the front fog lights is on constantly.
The rear fog light (two clicks out) works fine.
The headlights are the stock self-adjusting headlights. The relay I believe is a normal little box above the drivers footwell.
Im not actually sure where the car is from. Considering it could be from either Canada or the US, do you have any ideas? I picked the car up from canada but it could have been imported from the US first.
i tried, but i was having trouble with it. Ill give it another go, but do you think that could be the issue? Especially considering the indicator light constantly illuminated on the light selector. It just seems weird that both would go at the same time. Also, I think that I read something about canadian cars having no fog lights, maybe?
Not the readout, but the actual dial. Canadian cars all came in Kilometers . Unless someone changed it out, I would suspect American car. So no DRL unless imported to Canada and someone updated the DRL's as DRL's are mandatory on imported cars in Canada.
