Suggestion · Original poster

It seems like best practice to replace all the hardware but I am wondering if I can reuse the ring stop/shock stop plates - #10 in this diagram.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I'm currently gathering parts for a suspension refresh. It seems like best practice to replace all the hardware but I am wondering if I can reuse the ring stop/shock stop plates - #10 in this diagram. Apologies if this was covered in another thread and I missed it. Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

They are essentially just big washers, unless they are corroded or damaged I dont see why they have to be replaced. I reused mine when rebuilding my suspension a while ago, I only reused those and the boots though, all other things got replaced.

Cool, that's what I was thinking. Thank you!

I agree. I just replaced bump stops and shock mounts all the way around. Those large flat washers dont need to be replaced ordinarily. If you had some damage or wear there, you would want to replace them, but then you would also want to figure out what caused that wear.
