Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any advice on deciding between Cavallo Race 340mm (including airbag) and the T96 would appreciated. The T96 requires my airbag and is more expensive - is it better quality or finish? Also - are there any concerns with the extension of the Cavallo hub (is it safe)? I need all the leg room I can get so I plan to do this soon, along with the console delete (though the price of that seems to have doubled in the last few years!) Thanks

POST 2Original post

No particular advice on wheels (sorry) - but if you're interested in the console delete, check out the Function First console riser kit. Does a very good job at shrinking that center stack and also gives you 2" higher shifter height. I put the kit in this week and love it. I think it's cheaper than the GT3 console delete kit too.

POST 3Original post

You can Extend your steering with an XTend 55, pricy but well made product that allows retention of the stock steering wheel with air bag. Gert, http://www.carnewal.com/ , sells them, or go to the manufacturer. http://www.navo.se/ny_produkt_extend...TEND55_eng.pdf (pain because they aren't setup to sell overseas) I use it on my 2003C2 Cab to bring the wheel back after I lightly modified my sport seat stops. It brings the wheel back enough that I can use the adjustment again. Before I just had it all of the way back and it was still a little too far away. You can also go to http://extendmyseat.com/ to get a set of mounts that move your seat back. If you decide to go this way I have a set that you can buy - cheap!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Copilot: I was aware of the console riser kit, but I think it is about twice the price of the GT3 console delete kit. Though, after reading more reviews, it may be worth it for the armrest height, ; the stock height is quite irritating. fpb111: Wow, that tend 55 looks great - pretty expensive, but seems well made. I'll PM on the extendmyseat offer!

Oh, I forgot to add - Merry Christmas to everyone!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Update - I installed a DCTMS T96 wheel this weekend . It gives me just enough extra leg room to make driving much more comfortable. I don't think I would want to go much smaller in diameter, it would block the instruments too much. The only thing I don't like about the wheel is the black wheel color is really more dark grey and doesn't fully match the black of the airbag. I located a used GT3 console delete and it is on its way; I called and the Function First console riser will not work with a cabriolet and they will not have a cab version ready till spring.
