Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've noticed a very slight knock (left rear) getting worse when I drive on an uneven surface (like grass) at very low speed. I've visually checked all components and nothing looks worn or loose. Since installing my coil-overs ( a few months old), I've not replaced the sound deadening over the strut and can reach back and feel it transmitting to the top of the strut. Any ideas or is this normal?

Sounds like a ball joint on the coffin arm. I've got the same thing up front and getting ready to upgrade everything.

Do your Feals have pillow ball top mounts? I had a Tarrett one go.

No

POST 6Original post

It’s remarkable how small play has to be to create a noise. With my pillow ball, there was zero play that could be felt, but it knocked like a hammer. LCA ball joint would be my next guess.

Yup, old one looked good but the ball joint was a little floppy' New coffin arms solved the rear knock/clunk! What a difference.
