Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I noticed a couple drops of coolant under the back of my 2004 C4S Cab today. I put it up in the air to take a look, and there were a couple drops coming from the large hose that goes into the engine. Its probably 2" in outer diameter, and it runs from a rigid pipe on the passenger side of the car (near the oil pressure sensor) to (what I believe to be) an inlet into the engine. It's maybe 12-16" in total length, and it's really accessible once you remove the air box. I drained the coolant, pulled the leaking end of the hose off, and inspected it. The o-ring was bonded to the metal flange on the end of the hose. I took it off gently, cleaned it and the channel in which it sits, and applied some o-ring lube to it. I figured I'd reinstall it to see if the debris on the o-ring and in the channel was causing the the slow leak. It seems to be holding just fine, but I'm sure the fix isn't permanent. So, here's my question - has anyone replaced the o-rings or does one need to buy a new hose? Does anyone have part numbers for the o-ring or the hose? I used to read parts diagrams for a living, and I can't, for the life of me, figure out which hose I need. Additionally, I don't see any o-rings listed in the parts diagram for the cooling hoses. Thank you!

POST 2Original post

Not available as a separate part from Porsche AFAIK. I've seen people measured its dimensions and get a generic automotive grade o-ring.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thats it! Thank you. I guess that I will order one. Potentially saving $40ish with the hassle & potential failure of the o-ring hardly seems worth it.
