Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Install by a po' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean solution' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Then I ran the mic from my visor, down the a-pillar, under the dash to the Tranzit.

Haven't seen it used but I do t see why it wouldnt work.

Either way personally I really like my Dension + WMA1000 because I can change the track with the head unit...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a '02 Bose C2. I settled on a cassette blue tooth which believe it or not works great. My car was probably one of the last to have a tape cassette option. Even the media holders directly below the unit
are for cassettes rather than CD's which is by far the most prevalent I've seen in 996's of that era. The car also has a CD changer located in the frunk so this option for linking to my iPhone leaves no features unusable.
Since you have a '03 and the prior owner most likely didn't order a cassette (like my 80-year-old first owner, if indeed the option was still offered at that point) all of the above is a moot point. But I thought I'd offer it as one never knows, right?
It's not exactly plug and play. Personally, I never installed any type of electronics in a vehicle so this was a first for me. I basically followed some posts online, and winged it on my own. Here's a brief overview:
You'll need to remove the head unit to plug in the antenna adapter. You'll need the radio removal keys for that job. Next you need to remove the small, carpeted panel on the driver's side lower center console, you basically pull it off. From there you'll find an unused wire harness for the cell phone. I clipped the ground and 12v switched wires and connected them to the Tranzit unit with butt connectors I picked up at the hardware store. Then I ran the mic from my visor, down the a-pillar, under the dash to the Tranzit. Finally I stuck the call button to the dash to the left of the head unit behind the steering wheel.
The sound is fantastic and it works like a charm. The Bluetooth connects near instantly the key is turned on, unlike my factory VW system, or Ford Sync which take a few seconds. I highly recommend it. It wasn't too hard.
The last thing I want when driving my 996 is to have a phone conversation. Of course its not my daily driver. Dont tell my wife you can install bluetooth in it, thanks.
If you want a simple decent solution go the transitblu, if you want the best quality solution go Dension gateway 500 + WMA1000.
Amazon also have a fiber optic unit with Bluetooth for around $150? Haven't seen it used but I do t see why it wouldnt work.
While probably less of an integrated solution that you're looking for... I got a Nulaxy KM21 bluetooth FM transmitter from Amazon for $15 and it works really, really well. It literally overpowers actual radio stations. Even has a couple of USB outlets for charging. Only downside is that the mic doesn't work well for calls (though I see they've come out with a few newer models which may work better in that department).
Have anybody tried this one?

It looks a clean solution for me. The module plugs and play directly on the aux input, and if you want handsfree too, you have to only place the microphone in a proper place
Quite a few in fact... Here is the link:

But this BTR-2 kit is for the Pre-MOST CAN Bus head units. We just received the 2003 onward kits that connect to the fiber optics. We just have not had a chance to get them on our website!
I bought this:
It works OK. A little static during complete silence. Not a complete waste of $$$ for 15 bucks.

I've tried 3 of the inexpensive bluetooth transmitters and they all were terrible. I guess they technically work but the sound is very quiet, where I have to turn it up
way
louder than the normal radio or CD volume, and easily starts getting staticky. I've not had any luck with those. I'm thinking of trying one of these integrated systems that I have had better success with on another cars (for doing sound from a DVD player on an older van).
Me too. I'm happy with the stereo in my 996 - I would like to add Bluetooth so I can field phone calls. Looks like the FM modulators don't work well and add static.
I saw a service on ebay to add Bluetooth to a CDR-23 i'm curious if it's any good.
I remember awhile ago there was a service to add AUX but apparently it was rubbish - wondering if its the same just this time with bluetooth... Also not sure if its for early non MOST CDR23s or the later MOST ones as well.
Either way personally I really like my Dension + WMA1000 because I can change the track with the head unit... $500 well spent to that function, great audio clarity and keeping the factory head unit - for me anyway.
Another Denison owner here, except I got the bovee Bluetooth adapter that plugs into the 30-pin cable. One benefit of Dension is you can hard-connect the phone to avoid the loss of sound quality over Bluetooth and charge phone at the same time. Its great when it works, but sometimes the Denison refuses to work with No CD error. As much as I like the stock look, Im close to replacing with one of the CarPlay units.
I've got the same bovee unit WMA1000 - 30pin ipod to Bluetooth - works perfectly, connects every time and I don't get a No CD error so far?
Although - I do occasionally get the music stopping and "LOADING" comes up on the screen for a second then starts playing again. Might be my phone rather than my equipment.
