Reynwerkes - that's an interesting point about the rear settings - I would have though that as a factory tuned setup there wouldn't have been much need to change the alignment settings much from factory.

Spax - I haven't yet been in an X-74 car, but having been through 3 evolutions of suspension on what is now my now track car I am pretty familiar with the degradation in ride comfort that goes along with stiffening suspension and replacing compliant rubber bushings with poly then spherical bushings etc.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Dialed in a bit more negative camber and it seems to have solved the problem.
For guys running the X-74 suspension setup and 18" wheels what height do you have front and rear as measured from the top of the wheel arches to ground level? My 02 C2 Tip has 65cm front 67cm rear with what I believe may be H&R suspension and my 99 C2 6Spd has 67cm front and rear on stock suspension.
I'm in the process of choosing a suspension set for my new 996 and am pretty much going to choose between the X-74 setup and the KW variant 3. X-74 gets thumbs up for cost and good reports and with KWV3 I like the adjustability.
I've got some serious speed bumps to contend with in my housing area unfortunately.
Cheers
My '03 C2 with x74 with 1/4 tank of gas and no passengers measures as follows:
Front: 25.25 inches (64.1cm)
Rear: 25.5 inches (64.7cm)
These are right and left averages since my garage is (evidently) not quite level.
have you driven an x-74 car yet?
kinda stiffly sprung, and non-adjustable.
don't get me wrong, i have it and am satisfied with it.
to be for warned........................
My height is close to quickxotica's spec's.
What I like about the X74 is that they come preassembled so very easy install and they're factory tuned.
You also can't beat the price if you get them from Gert. I got them less the sway bars and the price landed is very reasonable.
The ride is fairly stiff and if you've got crappy roads in your area think twice about them. I'm constantly watching the road ahead for potholes and bumps.
But I'm still very happy with the way the car handles.
One complaint I do have and haven't had any feedback yet from a few queries is that the rear camber set up is very sensitive.
When I had the rear camber set up to factory spec it was VERY twitchy, almost scary. Dialed in a bit more negative camber and it seems to have solved the problem. Not sure what the long term effect will be on tire wear, though.
The X74 was a great mod that really improved the driving experiance. I got mainly for driving DE's. The ride height is about the same as described above. Dropped the stock height about 1 3/4" (40mm-45mm). +for dealing with Gert.
I run the X74 on my 04 C2 Anniversary Edition. Ride height is now 64,5 cm front and 63,5 cm rear. I am using the car as a daily driver as well as for DE events. The car rides and handles great, but you have to be careful over bumps and ditches. I really recommend this setup if you want better handling on the track.
Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback, I am a little surprised that the heights your reporting aren't a tad lower but that's why it's worth asking the questions hey.

Reynwerkes - that's an interesting point about the rear settings - I would have though that as a factory tuned setup there wouldn't have been much need to change the alignment settings much from factory. What rear settings did you end up with ?
Cheers
With full tank of gas 25" at all 4 corners.
The ride is stiff but I find it OK for long trips. I hated the stock suspension, felt like a Yukon. The only downsides for me are that I can't get into my driveway (and many other entrance ways and ramps) with the front aerokit chin spoiler attached and I've hit the rear skid plate at few times on speed bumps. There is no way to adjust ride height or corner balance. The upsides are improved handling for autoX and DE and don't need to have the suspension set up.
FWIW my alignment is the OEM X74 spec but with -1 deg front camber and -2 deg rear camber. Works great on the track; feels fairly neutral, slightly understeering at the limit. The rear end is well behaved in the dry and the wet. Greatly reduced body roll. Front end floaty feeling is gone. Did I mention I HATE the stock US suspension?
do you happen to know what your anniversary height was before the x74? trying to get an average to find out if the anniversary really was 10mm lower all around...
btw, what number are you?
