I've checked all over the internet but can't find any detailed write ups.

I replaced the hoses on my 2000 - it was a hassle finding all of the hose part numbers and getting the right size and number of clamps.

The provide some good photos and the hoses seem pretty easy to replace but after I took off the undertray to look at the hoses on the C4 it looks like an extremely tight fit.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No difference between the Carerra 4 and Carerra coolant hoses or routing, afaik.
Guys,
I have decided to replace all the radiator and coolant hoses on my 1999 C4. It's got 130K on it so it's about time to replace them. I've checked all over the internet but can't find any detailed write ups. Pelican has a tutorial but I believe it's for the standard Carerra. The provide some good photos and the hoses seem pretty easy to replace but after I took off the undertray to look at the hoses on the C4 it looks like an extremely tight fit.
Any ideas? Do the radiators have to be removed? Any suspension parts need removal to access the hoses?
No difference between the Carerra 4 and Carerra coolant hoses or routing, afaik. I replaced the hoses on my 2000 - it was a hassle finding all of the hose part numbers and getting the right size and number of clamps. I had the engine out, suspension removed, undertrays off, bumpers removed, but I dont think you need to go quite that far to get the job done.
If I was in the market to replace radiators, Id go with the CSF radiators through Demonspeed motorsports.
Ok thanks. I just saw a video showing radiator replacement and looks like with the fender liner and wheel removed its a lot easier with better access to remove the radiator hoses.
So the C4S has an interesting combination of radiators. It has the center of the regular 996, but the side radiators of the turbo/GT2.
To replace all of the hoses you will at the very least need to remove the front wheels and the inner fender liners, which is not very hard. We would remove the front bumper as well. You can do it without removing the bumper, but it makes it much harder.
I had made a hose replacement chart up to show what all hoses there are, but I see that it is specific for the GT3 and Cup, so not the same as what you are looking at.
Also, on the radiator replacement with CSF, we have those for sale and in stock. We have a rennlist coupon code for a discount available as well too.
Thanks
Ed
I may have a list somewhere in a spreadsheet that I could share as a starting point if you are interested. No guarantees as to accuracy, youd still need to cross check, verify, etc. Let me know if you want me to try to dig it up.
*Just for future reference - Pretty much everything on these cars is mega-engineered and put together in a fashion at the factory as to make the build super efficient and straight forward and built to very tight tolerances. Unfortunately for us, we get the car in a finished state. As such, whenever we decide to work on something (with very few exceptions), we need to remove several other things to get to the part we want to work on**. Generally speaking, removing these extra parts isn't necessarily difficult, but it tends to add extra time to what would otherwise be a quick and easy job. You just have to bite the bullet and do the work.
** The other caveat being the potential to break old, little, plastic pieces in the process...
Again, the full range of caveats apply here, but this is what I have in a spreadsheet from when I ordered hoses for my 2000:
