Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The 996 is quite possibly the best used car value going today!

Pulling off the freeway, the average for the run home was 29.5mpg.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Had to drive from the Seattle area to a rural area near Abbotsford, B.C. today; about a 3.5 hr drive each way.
Car ran great. No delays at the border. Plenty of power to pass slower cars on the back roads. Coming back to Seattle, reset the trip computer. Generally ran between 69-75mph with a few bursts to get around slower clumps of cars. Pulling off the freeway, the average for the run home was 29.5mpg.
Quite a few miles were over relatively rough pavement...some was really quite rough. I fully appreciated having left the original suspension intact. A very reasonable ride despite the road conditions.
While I very much enjoyed my previous German, English & Italian cars, none had quite this combination of performance, dependability, ride comfort and excellent mpg.
I've appreciated this car...but, over time it's growing on me. Some of my other cars, like the Ferrari 275 GTS, had much stronger characters. But this one just keeps showing up, doing what it does well.
A well-cared-for 996 continues to be a sleeper of a value on the used market.
James... did you run up on Saturday?
dayam it was nice out. I was home catching up around the house before the rains come and missed my chance for a drive but managed to get the car cleaned up and 3 coats of fresh wax on her for winter. There was no way I was going out yesterday
but I will drive it all week...
glad to hear you still enjoy it - simple and stock the way it was when new.
(however, I sure like a "little more"
)
So nice to hear about another successful 7 hr. trip in a Porsche. I couldn't agree more about the ride quality, performance when needed, and the fun of piloting a Porsche. sounds like a blast. looking forward to another ski season so I can add on some more miles and great driving fun.
Drove up on Sunday through the showers. Saturday was flying. Odd conditions.
Calm winds at ground level in Auburn. At 2,500' I had a 20mph tail wind up to Arlington (that or I finally got the Flux Capacitor working in the glider). Arlington was 13 gusting to 17.
Took a Navy pilot for his first glider ride. Caught some upward lift when we tucked in close to the rock walls on the windward side of some local small mountains (which you would expect)...but when we got up to 5,500' over the peaks, discovered modest winds and no lift.
Flying back to Auburn from Arlington, I encountered headwinds as high as 30mph...only to find essentially calm conditions at Auburn.
Just reinforces the notion that you have to look outside the cockpit and see what is really happening....rather than assume it will conform to your expectations. (same as adjusting to track conditions...)
yea, strange indeed - sounds like a nice flight
I have been fighting a head cold since mid-last week and relly just "rested" although I managed to get a few things done - took 2 days off work and slept most of those off
