Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi folks. Anyone install a GPS antenna? If so where and where did you run wires? I am thinking on the dash right behind the antitheft LED. Thank you in advance for looking. Lang G

POST 2Original post

Look for articles talking about Sirius satellite radio antenna mounts. Under the front, between the glass and the battery, is just plastic that protects a lot of stuff. So it's transparent to radio. You can route the wires under the dash through a grommet. There are people that will sell you a plastic mount that gets it up and forward. so that it's truly right under the plastic there. I don't have it handy but there are articles here and I think on Crutchfield that discuss this.

POST 3Original post

If I remember correctly mine went inside the dash on a metal plate under the alarm light not visible but works fine.

That's where mine is also. That little plastic cover just pops right off!

POST 5Original post

That might not be a bad place for my Sirius antenna! Of course it's better to get it even further forward but heck, that might make it a lot easier. I did a double-DIN install recently but haven't hooked up the satellite module yet.

POST 8Original post

While I originally mentioned the satellite location, the factory GPS location mentioned by others is probably better and an easier install. GPS has several satellites and the antenna only needs to see a few. Satellite radio is basically hanging in one part of the sky and you want the antenna to see that spot no matter how the car is facing relative to it. So you need to get it further away from the roofline.
