Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

94 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 10Original post

Right now, the Cayenne is in garage bay #1, the C4S is in garage bay #2 and garage bay #3 is still full of stuff from our move over the summer. Once I get things cleaned up and get another vehicle, the C4S will move over to #3. Here are a couple of shots from the iPhone.

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 7982942

Do you have any pics of the interior of the C4S? Love that color!!!

POST 12Original post

Thanks! It's natural brown leather. I don't have any photos handy, but I'll take some. I believe that Ferdinand (redridge) has the same color interior in his car, and I think it is much nicer than mine. I know he has posted some photos.

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 7982585

nice, btw, did you paint your plate to block the camera? what paint you used? and where you bought it from?

POST 14Original post

I don't know where my 996 sleeps anymore, because it "ran away from home" 2 years, 4 months and 18 days ago!

POST 15Original post

Looks like a familiar photo.... 1 Porsche....1 Audi. Add surfboards for climate. (Or snow shoes if you live in CO)....

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 7998029

I was wondering if anybody noticed the snow shoes...

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 7998047

I'm Canadian. You could have had them covered with a blanket and I would have seen them.

POST 18Original post

Those are some pretty short boards. You've obviously got more surf skills that I have.....

POST 19Original post

Tonight in an enclosed truck wrapped in a car cover and plastic. Tomorrow night she displaces the 968, which displaces the Mercedes.

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 7998074

HAHAAHAA .......HAHAHAHA Not likely! There's a 7.5', 9' Stewart and a softtop for the nieces when they come to town. I'm still very horrible at it. I've hardly gone lately either and I really need to, good for the soul.

POST 23Original post

Amongst friends! And two other types of boards..

POST 26Original post

Just moved it to the 3rd garage yesterday. It's normally in the 2nd garage for easy access with the A6 sitting outside. Now the A6 is inside the 2nd garage and the 996 is in the 3rd (attached, but one single garage). During the summer all the bikes, tricycles, scooters, etcs are all over the 3rd garage. Now they're not being used that much.

POST 27Original post

Quotes source posts: 7998705, 7999580, 7999539

Sweet! I'm wishing I can get an air cooled and keep the 996 too..... You're a lucky man... You remember that next time you get bummed for some reason..... So when does the snow blower go to the easy access garage? No worries about fitting a four post lift in your garage.

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 7982335

Nice clean up. I'm always amazed how we think about space depending on where we live... I wish I could go back to the UK and see my old dorm room. I could lay down on the bed but couldn't lay down on the floor, I swear it was a closet.

POST 29Original post

My does not sleep much. Will drive it all year long! Snows go on this or maybe next week...

POST 30Original post

Quotes source post: 7999773

2 or 4 post.....all part of the master plan. Maybe Santa will drop one off this year.

POST 31Original post

Usually my wife's Q5 gets the other garage spot... but every once and a while I sneak in my new daily driver - mostly to irritate her...

POST 32Original post

Winter coming early in Canada this year? I've got a track event Nov. 12th... I'll put the snows on after that.

POST 35 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tim Wasmer, beautiful garage!!!!!

POST 36Original post

Quotes source post: 8001773

+1..... Mine staying warm....

POST 38Original post

Thanks! Here are a few more. I went a different direction with regards to floor paint this time. The Epoxy's have become to expensive IMHO and I was not ready to tile it like my last garage (with VCT tile). This is a OIL based floor paint. $16 a gallon at Lowe's. It is wearing really well. The downside is that it took 2 days to fully dry.

POST 39 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ya, my floor is epoxied, my roommate didnt want the flakes tho which I did, and now he regrets. our foor can get very slippery.... but still looks pretty nice!

POST 40Original post

I wanted to do the flakes as well but the odd drying time did not permit it.

POST 41Original post

Quotes source post: 8001940

What kind of Audi is that in the garage? s6?

POST 42Original post

It is an A4 UltraSport. My wife has the S4 at work today.

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

my roommate has a b5 a4 2.8l

POST 45Original post

They get along pretty good considering their Big Brother is next door!

POST 46Original post

I want two sports cars.... You guys are making me jealous..

POST 48Original post

Mine sleeps in my underground parking at my condo complex. God damn feral cats **** on the cover so I stopped using it. Today I saw raccoon prints on the front spoiler!! WTF are they doing? Looking for food in the radiator vents? MO foes!!

POST 49Original post

Quotes source post: 8005959

I found snail shells in my engine bay when I was changing out the AOS.....

POST 50Original post

Ferdinand, Is your garage standard height? I am thinking about a lift but I have an 8ft garage, looks good in yours!

POST 51Original post

Some nice sleeping quarters! Tim, can you adopt me??

POST 52Original post

Quotes source post: 8006347

I have a 10ft ceiling, which I think is the minimum to park another car (sedans only) underneath.... I also modified my garage door. I had to lift it up another 17inches. If you look at the pic, the door rails (closest to the window) sits higher than the rail at the other bay. If you have a long enough garage, you should not have to do this... mine is 21ft length.

POST 53Original post

Ferdinand, Very nice. The rail position is what made me think you had a normal ceiling. Duane

POST 55Original post

It's tiny, but I just found out that our offer on a house was accepted TONIGHT! There's no garage on the property, but that means I can build what I want, and tall enough to finally get my LIFT! I'm so freaking excited about that, you don't even know. You know how long I've wanted a lift? Well, a long time.

POST 56 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ya harbor freight jack ftw lol^^^

POST 57Original post

That's toooootally the aluminum harbor freight jack!! Lol!! And you know what? It's the only jack I found that is low enough to get under the Pcar! Haa! It's not fantastic, and I wouldn't trust it very much, but it's worked OK so far, is super light, and get's under where my more expensive jacks can't. But, I doubt I'd buy it again.

POST 58 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

lol thats why i bought it too

POST 60Original post

hey i got the silver harbor freight jack too!!!

POST 61Original post

What a nice set up Ferd.

POST 62Original post

This is truly a blank canvas... We moved in not long ago and had a little girl. Looking forward to doing the floor and paint, at the very least, once things settle down a bit. If anyone is willing to share their experiences/suggestions I'd love to hear them!

POST 63Original post

Awesome carages! I am dreaming about a two-car carage. This is what I have now. A bit small but warm in the winter and big enough to accommodate my snow mobile and dirt bike...and the Porsche of course.

POST 64Original post

It's really funny that a lot of Porsche owners have an Audi as well..

POST 65Original post

Quotes source post: 8010759

It's true! Including yourself (used to anyways). It's such a interesting concept...

POST 66Original post

Quotes source post: 8010759

Interesting - almost everyone that eyeballs my car on the road, at intersections, etc is driving an Audi

POST 67Original post

I have 3 audi's right now in addition to the 996. Its funny you say that, there was a guy in a 2006 A4 that was eyeballing me on my way to work.

POST 68Original post

Quotes source post: 8010637

From what I can see in your pic, you have plenty of space to work with, so it boils down to what changes are important to you. Painting floors and hanging up Porsche related art work are simple to do. GL

POST 69Original post

Speaking of Audis, I saw this: (not PC, but safe for work and funny!)

POST 72 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

my roommate has two audis, i have my 996 and a 1998 jetta. still all cars in the vw family both our gf's have VW's too lol

POST 73Original post

That is a transformation. Looks great! I go away for 8 weeks and... Love the avatar BTW. Hope to make the mid November run...

POST 74 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

10W-KHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ahahahahahaha!

POST 77Original post

Mine sleeps on the third row. Cannot wait for the garage remodel - floors, cabinets, lights, etc etc...

POST 78 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

that merc looks massive compared to the audi and 996 lol

POST 79Original post

A Little late to the party..........3rd bay over....

POST 80Original post

Its good to see that Porsche guys in this forum are true "car guys" with some great taste in cars in addition to the 911.

POST 81Original post

Even the Tacoma in post #79. I had a 2001 Tacoma Quad Cab and had that truck almost vertical trying to get out of a canyon while prospecting.

POST 82Original post

E: I must say my Tacoma is simply bullet proof! Rock solid, regular maintance and like the energizer bunny, just keeps going and going. Thinking about using it as a tow vehicle, too???????? A bit small, but a strong V6 and a 5 speed, with an aluminum trailer, should be okay????????

POST 83Original post

Quotes source post: 7984068

Mine sleeps in Michigan.

POST 84Original post

My wife tends to hog the carport so my daily driver 996 lives out in the open most of the time. This doesn't seem to bother her at all. I have plans for a garage setup, but there's no really *good* place to build it. Every spot is a compromise Still, next year I plan to break ground. Rest assured it will be discussed here. Notice the Audi. It's a six speed manual and a real treat to operate.

POST 85Original post

See !! I have an Allroad as well. Great car.. Except The Porsche takes the garage...

POST 86 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the pcar should def be the one under the cover lol

POST 87Original post

Since I am a newer 996 owner, I wanted to revive this thread. I think we all see a lot of our cars where they sleep. Let's see how your garage is. Thanks

POST 88Original post

On top of my jeep. Single car garage unfortunately.

POST 89Original post

We had to get twin beds. Speedy kept hogging the covers...

POST 90Original post

I have a poor man's working garage....LOL. But I love it. Normally my wife's Q5 is in there with one of my cars, but when she goes out of town for business, I put both of my cars in there if it's summer. I also rent a three car garage (have to put one car on rollers) and this is where I store my turbo and park for the winter or keep the S8 in the summer.

POST 91Original post

My 996 has to share a room with an AMG, another 911, a 914 and a buncha Pontiacs. Poor thing!

POST 92Original post

Still in process of a minor remodel/facelift of my workshop, rearranging everything, new workstations, sectioning workbenches to shrink their depth, new shelves, etc., but here's the latest pict of the work in progress.
