This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to this site and just recently got a 996 C2. I have a Fabspeed exhaust and cone filter on it but that's about it. I'd like to get better suspension next but I everyone has different opinions on what is best. I've heard about Bilstein being good, as well as Cross and JIC but I have never tried any of them. I've also heard of people putting in the stock GT3 suspension. Any suggestions? Aftert suspension, I'd like to get a chip upgrade. I'm familiar with Revo since I also own a VW but I'm not quite sure what is good with Porsche. Last but not least, wheels. I know this is already being discussed in another thread but does anyone know of some high-quality, lightweight, 5-spoke wheels? Right know I'm looking at the Kinesis K57/58 and the Ruf 5 spoke 3-piece modulars, although they are a bit expensive.

POST 2Original post

I will take the job today. Could you please post pics?!? As for the chip Im not sure if it is really worth it.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Pics of what? My car or the mods I want?

POST 4Original post

Ze996, welcome to Rennlist. One thing that would be very useful to give you advice on suspension upgrades is what are you trying to achieve... cushier than stock, pure street upgrade, autox, light DE/Track use, extensive DE/Track use, etc.

Welcome to Rennlist. Lots of information can be found here about the questions you asked, have you tried the Search feature as that will provide you with threads about the subjects you asked about? But in response to your questions on your first thread and visit: First of, since we do not even know what year 996 you have, it makes it even harder to suggest anything as not everything works on different years, like suspension. Chips I have no idea about. Wheels, well show us pics of your car then we have something to go by.

POST 7Original post

Ze, Im in your same situation. What my mechanic told me about chipping, is that you wont get any more than 30hp from it, and thats like the most gains you could see; but what is important is making the chip flow with the exhaust and the intake to see those gains. And about the suspension, the PSS9s are the best way to go before the GT3 stock which are very expensive. If you are not looking to spend that much on the PSS9s maybe go with some H&R springs.
