Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know what the stock pads on the '99 996 were? I changed mine this w/e with Hawk HPS and the pads I changed from were Brembo's. Were these the stock pads? I bought this car in April and it had 59,000 miles on it.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, has anyone run the Brembos? How would you compare them to stock? To Hawk HPS? I thought the stock were Mintex?

POST 4Original post

The OEM pads made by Textar, Pagid, etc. for Porsche share nothing in common with the pads those manufacturers produce for the aftermarket. PAG owns the brake pad's chemical composition (trade secret) and (I believe) puts the manufacture out to bid?

POST 5Original post

don't buy mintex....or however you write it.....they make more noise than a bus (ask me how I know!!) the only good thing is less brake dust on my rims.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The Hawk HPS's seem to be doing really well w/o much dust. Of course, the Brembos that were in the car didn't dust much either and stopped the car pretty darned well. The HPS's need a couple of stops to heat up evidendly, then stop well. In case inquiring minds wanted to know
