Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2000 C2. Has had rattle in what appears to be in the front end or steering column area. Dealer has tightened steering and replaced front struts (2k) and I still have the rattle. It is only noticable at slow speeds. There is zero problems with performance...drives like a dream with new rubber and struts. (45K miles) Any help is greatly appreciated.

POST 2Original post

You might try the inner tie rods. My drivers side had a bad inner tie rod and it would creak when the car was warm or if it was hot outside. Espcially when going over bumps or driving slow. Not sure why, but a new tie rod cleared everything up. First I thought it was the sway bar bushings, then the struts, then the control arms, upper and lower and so on. Wasted a lot of money. Wish I would have isolated it to the tie rods first. Nick
