Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Thanks, the car came with the seat belt exit caps in matching red and the red gage faces which Porsche is now replacing because of bubbles under the faces.

I don't know what to tell you about the colour change from your computer to the forum, but I don't think we have seen this happen before...strange

If you're using PhotoShop, for instance, you might be embedding a different colorspace in the picture than the web software is reproducing.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys, let me introduce myself. My name is Michael Ziegler and I live on Long Island. I have owned a 914, Boxster, BoxsterS and my current 911C2 which I leased in September of 2003. I have added a PSE and the X74 suspension as a result of going thru the Porsche Driving Experience in 2004, Ruf peddles and a hard top. My latest addition is a set of Fikse wheels. I bumped up the rear tire size to 295/35 18 to give it a more aggressive look. I have decided to buy the car in September, since it seems I never get tired of looking at it or the driving experience, and a consideration of all the extras that I have put into it.
Here are some pictures (I hope).
The car is Guards Red. I don't know why the color shift IS present since the originals all look correct on my screen. I do see the same oranfg that you are seeing.
"I like the red strip in the dash"
Thanks, the car came with the seat belt exit caps in matching red and the red gage faces which Porsche is now replacing because of bubbles under the faces. Note this in ate attached picture.
WELCOME TO RENNLIST!!! Great car, and thanks for sharing. When you get a chance, try to post a profile picture of your car....so we can see both wheels and a full shot of the side of car. Best of luck and NICE MODS.....what took you so long to find us??
J
Welcome finally
Yeah the pictures do not do the colour of the car justice if it is Gaurds Red, so lets work on getting better pics uploaded, OK
I see the bubbling in the red gauge faces, shame about that. I wouldn't mind yellow for mine but then I would have to bring yellow into other areas in the car and I do not want to spend the money on that stuff yet, need to get perf mod's done first.
Again welcome.
Welcome to Rennlist and thanks for the pics!
I have never seen that happen to gauge faces. It will be interesting to find out the cause of the bubbles, if they give you a reason.
The first 996 I ever saw (back in late '98) was Zanzibar red. Metallic burnt orange colour. Just beautiful. I occasionally see it, but not often enough. Anyone here have one?
The car looks good and I love the interior. I want that steering wheel so bad, I need to find a dealer who sells them so I can order one.
The colored accents inside look really nice
That car is NOT Guard's red....I like the color, but it's definitely distinctive and a shade or two off from Guard's red. The pictures of the interior door posts look like they're Gurad's red.....I don't think it's your camera because the door posts would have taken on the same hue...I've never seen that color before. It your car a repaint?....and I'm not much for fancy wheels....but I definitely like yours....Nice car and Welcome aboard mate.
Thanks TMAC. The car came with a 3 spoke black wheel. I bought the leather/aluminum wheel together with a leather air bag from Brandywine [phone removed]) in July of 2004.
I was happly surprised to receive it with a silver crest since it went with the other almuinum look in the car.
Chuck, my invoice says Guards Red/Black top G1V9. I dont believe it is the camera sine it looks right on my monitor. I think it's somthing in the download/conversion process or the image shrinking to meet the 1024 x 1024. I will take another picture and try again in different lighting conditions.
I'm sorry Mike I just cannot resist, but I have to say the pumpkins really blend in well with the colour shown above
I don't know what to tell you about the colour change from your computer to the forum, but I don't think we have seen this happen before...strange
MikeZ;
I'm guessing you have a color space problem - which is why the shift in color from home to web - different devices can reproduce a different range of colors, and different software programs compensate for that in different ways. If you're using PhotoShop, for instance, you might be embedding a different colorspace in the picture than the web software is reproducing.
What hardware/software are you using to take the pictures and process them?
In your software, look for "colorspace" preferences or settings and set to sRGB if
possible, or "safe for web" - also, if you're using photoshop, try saving as "safe for web."

BolderNick, thanks for the advice, makes sense. I am shooting with a Canon 5D and processing in Lightroom and CS2 using Win XP. I will try saving to web next time.
Zicoramone, that color is exactly right.
Thanks guys.
